SWPH Conferences: Stellar Successes

Text Box: 2005

In 2005 the Science of Whole Person Health (WPH) and Second Qigong Summit was held on April 14–17 at the Holiday Inn Select, Bethesda, Maryland. The Qigong session was addressed by Congressman Chris Cannon (R-Utah). Some 50 papers were presented by speakers from all over the world. The conference featured two special workshops: Ayurvedic Healing and the Science of Electromagnetic Healing. The Robert Becker Award was instituted by the Friends of Health to recognize a major advance in WPH using a device based on electromagnetic or acoustic energies and awarded to Robert Becker, who gave his acceptance speech via telephone, since he could not attend.

2003

The first of what was to become a series of conferences on “Science of Whole Person Healing” was held at the Holiday Inn Bethesda from March 28–30. The conference brought together, possibly for the first time, a genuinely interdisciplinary mix of senior scientists and engineering familiar with the literature of WPH; individual practitioners and researchers working on ancestral practices, or modern devices applicable to such practices; physicians conducting research in WPH practices; laity interested in the results; along with representatives of federal funding agencies.
